Many of you have already called to get on our list for irrigation winterization. Those of you who have not yet done so, now is the time. We will be doing the winterizations in November. If you are already one of our maintenance customers, basic shut off is included in your service.
If you are not on a maintenance contract with us, the cost is $75 for the basic shut off and $90 for pressurized shut off. The $75-$90 charge includes the first 5 zones. Additional zones are $10 per zone. Pressurized shut off is highly recommended as it prevents pipes from freezing and bursting. In this process, we turn off the controller, close the backflow preventor, open all drain valves (this is where water collects), and expel all water within the lines and heads using pressurized air.
Please RSVP by November 15th to have your winterization done. After November 15th there will be a 20% charge for travel time.
Unfortunately, each year we do have customers calling in with irrigation leaks often resulting from not doing a pressurized shut off. Please keep in mind that this repair is typically more costly than it is to do a pressurized shut off.
